Nov 24, 2015 · On my 2000 400 it would become very difficult to shift in cold weather, esp if running thru snow. I removed the gearshift lever and housing it is attached to and disassembled it. The grease was very used up so i cleaned it out and regreased it.

Unplug it and check the wires for power. One should have power. If neither has power with the ignition on then check the fuses. If one does have power then jump it to the other. If the fan comes on, the temp switch is bad. If it doesn't, with the wires still jumped, check for power at the fan. The only way to clear it is to bleed the front right brake line. After the bleeding, I can go from 5 to 20 miles w/o a problem.
